Cityfunds invest in home equity investments, called "Homeshares". When a homeowner needs cash they can obtain a traditional mortgage, or they can sell us a portion of their equity for cash now. Cityfunds offers to buy their equity at a discount for a lump sum amount and shares in the appreciation of the home. This Homeshare has a term of 10 years, but often homeowners sell or refinance their home to buy back their equity (at the new value) prior to the end of the term.
